Meeting about the vaccine prophylaxis gathered experts from around the country in Ruse
Ruse was host of the Third National meeting “Initiative for Health and vaccine prophylaxis”. Its organizers were the National Council for Cooperation on Ethnic and integration matters/ Council of Ministers and the Commission on Health in the Parliament. The forum was held under the aegis of the Hungarian presidency of the European Union. Among the official guests of the meeting were the ambassadors of Hungary, Croatia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Portugal, representatives of the British Embassy, MPs and others.
The forum was officially opened by President of the Parliamentary Health Committee, Desislava Atanasova. Rositsa Ivanova, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary in Bulgaria Judith Lang, The Social Minister Totyu Mladenov, the Deputy Governor of Ruse Region Ivan Grigorov and Peter Tsvetanov - representative of the national network of health mediators, stressed on the importance of the initiative for Health and vaccine prophylaxis for the improved access to health care of Roma people.
The subject of the meeting was the initiative European Immunization Week, which takes place in all EU Member States from 23 till 30 April 2011. The project aims to improve interaction between the mediators and the regional health inspections in order to achieve better coverage in Roma communities with vaccines from the national immunization calendar.
