Romania donated 80000 bags to Bulgaria
Today, the Romanian government donated 80 000 bags to Bulgaria. That noble gesture was made possible thanks to the assistance of the regional structure of “Citizen Protection” in Giurgiu. The Romanian representatives Colonel Ion Stefanica and Major Octavian Fuinaru met the Regional Governor Stefko Burdzhiev near the famous Friendship bridge on the Danube river near the city of Ruse. Mister Burdzhiev expressed his delight from the fact that despite the difficult situation in Romania, our neighbours found time, resources and resolve to help us, and extended his gratitude to the Romanian representatives. In turn, Colonel Stefanica stated that the existing good relationship between the two neighbouring countries ensures mutual assistance during challenging times.
In case the river levels rise, those bags will be used to reinforce the existing dikes in the Ruse Region. If needed, they can be transferred to other regions in Bulgaria.
